Winter Color Chart 2015/2016

Winter Color Chart

I’m not claiming to be a color expert or forecaster, but I love color and the way that it affects our everyday lives. Whether you’re furnishing a home, shopping for new clothes, designing a graphic, or decorating a table, having a color scheme is important to create a cohesive look that will please the eye and also excite it.

For the upcoming Winter season, there are a few colors that I’m really looking forward to wearing, using in my planner, decorating my room with, or just enjoying in general. Winter is a funny season – full of pastels and snowy whites, and also bright jewel colors and rich, dark earth tones. It’s a fun juxtaposition of colors to work with!

There are a few colors in particular that I L-O-V-E:

As you can see, my favorites include a good mixture of warm tones (reds), cool tones (blues), and neutral tones (earthy greens, browns, and black).

As far as fashion goes, I love the look of a neutral outfit – jeans, a white/black tee, a gray sweater, etc. – with a fun pair of teal flats and a bright red lipstick. Or maybe you throw on a pair of hunter green boots and a burgundy coat! As long as you have a good neutral base, I think any of these colors can be mixed and matched.

I know this has been a funny post, but I love the idea of making a color “mood board” for the season. I’ve been collecting some Winter Inspiration on a Pinterest board, and I started to notice a color scheme emerging.

I hope this post has inspired you in some way! If you click on any of the images in this post, you can print out a large version of the chart to put on your own inspiration board or use in a craft.

Thanks for reading!
