Hey friend! What’s Up?
Here in PDX, the weather can’t seem to make up its mind. We go from 80-degree sunny days to 50-degree rainy days and back again, and it seems hard to believe that it’s officially going to be Summer in just a few days.
But, Summer is more than just a season of time, it’s a state of mind. And so, even though it’s cloudy and sprinkling outside as I write this post, and it may be almost Winter where you are in the world, this Summer 2017 Color Chart is here to help you get into a sunny mindset.
Check out the Summer 2017 Color Chart!
It’s interesting, because the colors actually seem a bit more muted than the Spring 2017 Color Chart. But, they’re definitely earthier and warmer.
Dreamy Desert

Embrace the sunny warmth of these earth tones this summer. At first glance, these colors may seem a bit more suited toward fall, but in fun patterns and breezy textures, these hues are perfect for summer.
Cool Citrus

Add a spritz of citrus to your life with a pop of lemon yellow. Whether it’s a pair or fun shoes, embroidered fruit, or a chic accessory, summer is the perfect time to embrace bright yellow. Keep it grounded with neutral tones, or play it up with watermelon pink!
God Bless America

The patriotic color scheme of red, white, and blue doesn’t have to be limited to the 4th of July. Denim blue, bright white, and a pop of red is a classic combo that’s easygoing and fun. Avoid stars and stripes if you don’t want to look like a flag, but if you do – go for it!
*BONUS* Naturally Neutral

These neutral tones aren’t summer-specific, but they’re definitely more summery than heavy black and brown tones. Army green, grey-ish blue, and bright white are the perfect hues to ground playful summer colors. Or, take inspiration from these images and go for a bold, all-neutral look.

I’ll be using it for design throughout the season, perhaps even in July’s wallpapers. Let the colors inspire your art – whatever it is!
