Hello, dear friend!
It’s been a while, hasn’t it?! I apologize for the lack of content here on WBT, but know that it’s for an *exciting* reason (and I’ll be sharing that with you very soon!). We’re talking, like, next level bright things, and I cannot wait to show you what I’ve been working on. Until then, I’ll be popping in with a few posts here and there. So don’t worry!
In this post, I am so happy to back and sharing a Plan With Me Video – with you! As I mention in the video, I’m in an interesting little phase of life where my day-to-day schedule isn’t too structured, as I’ve intentionally kept it open. And while that feels GREAT, this planner girl has got to plan!
And so, I pulled out Studio Calico’s July Planner Kit – Silver Lake Lodge – and created a mega to-do list for WBT!
*spoiler alert* you may see some to-do list items that give you a sneaky sneak peek at upcoming WBT stuff… Consider yourself in the know!
Without further ado, here’s the Plan With Me!
Super fun kit, right?! I’ll be honest – yellow and green are usually not my favorite colors. But, I love how it’s balanced with pink, blue, and grey.
I got the idea for trimming around the box stickers from Leah, who taught the class workshop this month. I love how it helps divide up the page and add a fun, geometric look to the spread.
And seriously, whenever Studio Calico includes double sets of alphabet stickers in the kits I do a little happy dance. There’s always that one letter you run out of way early, and with two sheets you can just whip out the second set and you’re set!
Another moment of honesty… Along with being a little iffy on the colors, I wasn’t in love with the patterned papers this month. The phrase paper is a little too busy as a whole for me, but cutting apart the phrases into word strips turned it into one of my favorite pieces in the kit!
I *may* have bought the Heidi Swapp stamp set I used in this video primarily for the floral stamp. But look at how pretty it looks layered under some “washi” and a “word strip sticker”… The vintage illustration style of the flower creates contrast with the modern patterns in the rest of the spread.
And, okay, this little cluster of circle die cuts, square outlines, and puffy stickers makes my heart flutter. The slightly overlapping design moves the eye around the page, and adds a ton of movement and shape (art theory totally applies to papercrafting you guys!).
Before I go, here’s a list of all the supplies I used in this video!
- Studio Calico Planner Kit – July 2017
- Deja Blue Dye Ink
- Washi Tape
- 1” Flag Punch (Purchased at Target)
- Heidi Swapp Stamp Set (Purchased at Tuesday Morning)
- Traveler’s Notebook (made by moi)
And that is it! I hope you enjoyed seeing how I put together a master to-do list in my Traveler’s Notebook. I create spreads like this quite often when I’m working on a project that doesn’t need to be scheduled into days and hours. It’s a perfect way to get everything down on paper, see what needs to get done, and have a space to add more thoughts as needed.
Until next time!
