There’s a reason they call it “Happy Mail” – whenever my Studio Calico Planner Kit comes in the mail, it’s a happy day.
This month, the SC Planner Kit – Pool Party – is filled with bright colored stickers, fun word phrase stickers, two full-sized rolls of metallic washi, a summer-things patterned acrylic sheet, and more!
For some reason, I’ve been having quite a bit of trouble taking photos recently – it’s either much too bright or it’s much too dark. So if these photos look a little wonky, apologies in advance. I hope the cuteness of the craft supplies shines through despite my poor photography.
This kit also included two cute palm-leaf binder clips and some stickers that can be used to clip papers and photos into your planner.
Despite the bright, summery colors of the kit, I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t more color on the stickers or washi. I ended up adding in some Little B Solid Color Washi Tape in 022 (the coral red) and 050 (the teal blue). I felt like I needed some solid colors somewhere instead of just little peeks of it here and there.
Otherwise, I love the way the stickers in this kit can be mixed and matched. I used some of the word phrase stickers, some of the square boxes, some of the puffy stickers, and quite a few of the blue and gray pentagons. I also lined the edges of my inserts with the silver strip washi. I like the bit of shine and pattern it adds, while also reinforcing the holes.
Besides the kit and the solid-colored washi tape, the only other supplies I used were a few stamps and pens. I’ve been tracking my writing and reading in little boxes, as I’m participating in Camp NaNoWriMo and a Summer Reading Challenge. I used a simple square stamp with a gray ink pad, and the “WRITE” and “READ” stamps from the Kelly Purkey Reading Planner Set with a Color Theory Ink in Coral Bay.
And there you have it! A quick look at the July Studio Calico Planner Kit and the upcoming week in my planner. Even if you don’t have these exact supplies, I hope there’s something in this post that inspires you!
