That’s right – I’m packing my bags and heading off to Camp NaNoWriMo! It has been a few years since I have participated in Camp NaNo, but I am excited to get back to one of my WIPs and work on some revision.
I also want to bring back my Letters from Camp NaNoWriMo series that I did back in 2016 (I can’t believe it’s been FOUR YEARS). And so, each Wednesday throughout July I will write a quick update, here on WBT, catching you up on my progress and giving you a peek into my writing process. This is also a way to keep myself accountable – so check in on me if I miss an update!
If you’re participating in Camp NaNoWriMo too, be sure to download this Calendar Printable I designed for the month. I plan on marking my progress each day, either with a stamp or sticker that shows I met my daily goal, or a note about my progress. I hope that you can find a way to make it work for you and your goal too!

My goal this year is to revise 31 pages of my WIP titled Lena and the Crashing Wave Otherwise Known as Dougie (AKA “Lena” because I know that title is very long!). My draft currently sits at 100 printed pages, so 31 pages will get be about one third of the way through. And I plan to do much more than line editing: I have a lot of inconsistencies, plot lines, and character development to work on. I’m hoping that working on a hard copy will get my eyes off a screen, and allow me to write outside too!
Are you participating in Camp NaNoWriMo 2020? What’s your writing goal? I’d love to hear about your project, and see you at camp! 😉
