Fall 2016 Color Chart

Fall 2016 Color Chart

Hello friends! With Fall just around the corner, I’m here to share the colors that are standing out in fashion, design, and life this season. I love how Fall colors are drawn directly from nature – from the bright oranges and reds found in the falling leaves, to the stormy blues and greys seen in the sky.

I’m no color expert, but I am a color fan. I was encouraged to find Pantone’s 2016 Colors of the Year in this Fall’s color chart (although instead of “Rose Quartz” and “Serenity”, I’m calling them “Pink Pearl” and “Cornflower”… because I can). It’s definitely true that ‘blush’ tones and light denim/chambray have been huge this year, so I’m not surprised that these colors are still trending.

Let’s get into the colors that are defining the season!

The New Neutral

Gone are the days when black, white, and grey are the only neutrals. In Fall, earthy greens, browns, and blues are just as versatile. From a dark, denim blue, to a light, oatmeal beige, this season’s new neutrals make just as much of a statement as a pop of color.

Orange Pop

It can be a bit of a tricky color to work with, but Fall is the perfect time to play around with a pop of orange. From a bright pumpkin-orange, to a dark, rust-toned orange, there are a ton of hues to choose from. Due to its place on the color wheel, orange looks great with blue, green, yellow, and even purple.

Red Delicious

Take inspiration from your favorite variety of apple this season! A bright, candy apple red is just as Fall-appropriate as a darker, red delicious tone. When placed next to a neutral green, blue, or blush tone, a juicy red really shines.

Here are all the colors in one place! Don’t you love how it just looks like Fall?

I hope this Fall 2016 Color Chart makes you just a little bit more excited for autumn. And if you need a bit more encouragement, check out this post from last year where I shared a Highly Scientific Chart of Fall Essentials.

In other news, I’ve been working hard behind the scenes on some exciting WBT updates. You might be able to guess some of them from this post 🙂 I hope you’ll stick around to see them!
